چکیده

The nitrocellulose based materials are degraded in a natural way during their storage; the processes of degradation are accelerated when the temperature or the humidity increases. To prevent this decomposition, these materials include in their composition stabilising agents which retain the nitro groups and avoid the autocatalytic degradation of nitrocellulose. The aim of the present work is to improve our understanding of the basic mechanisms of the degradation of the nitrocellulose based materials and the way in which their stabilization evolves. Solid–liquid phase equilibrium for the binary system of (N-(2-acetoxyethyl)-p-nitroaniline (1) + Nethyle-4-nitrooaniline (2)) is determined using DSC technique. The experimental results were correlated using Wilson and UNIQUAC models. As results, the system studied presents a simple eutectic, where the components are not miscible in the solid phase. Important deviations between experimental and predicted values are observed in the case of ideal model. These deviations can be attributed to the complexity of our system and principally to the presence of intermolecular effects. The best description of SLE was given by the two parameters UNIQUAC.

Experimental and Theoretical Study of Phase Equilibria in Aqueous Mixtures of Lactic Acid with Benzyl Alcohol and p-Xylene at Various Temperatures

Liquid-liquid equilibria for the (water + lactic acid + benzyl alcohol or p-xylene) ternary systems were investigated at atmospheric pressure and in the temperature range from 298.15-318.15 K. The studied systems exhibit two types of liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) behavior. The system consisting of benzyl alcohol displays type-1 LLE behavior, while a type-2 behavior is exhibited by th...

Synthesis of highly luminescent cobalt(II)-bis(8-hydroxyquinoline) nanosheets as isomeric aromatic amine probes.

Highly luminescent and water-soluble cobalt(ii)-bis(8-hydroxyquinoline) (CoQ(2)) nanosheets have been successfully synthesized via a simple, rapid sonochemical method. The water-soluble CoQ(2) nanosheets were characterized by luminescence spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The CoQ(2) nanosheets allow highly sensitive and selective d...

Impact of Biofield Treatment on Spectroscopic and Physicochemical Properties of p-Nitroaniline

Para nitroaniline (p-Nitroaniline) is an organic compound, used as an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals drugs, gasoline and dyes. The present study was attempted to investigate the influence of biofield treatment on p-nitroaniline. The study was performed in two groups i.e., control and treatment. The treatment group was subjected to Mr. Trivedi’s biofield treatment. The control ...

Extraction of p-Nitroaniline from Aqueous Solutions onto Activated Carbon Prepared from Treated Camphor Wood

In this study, the residues of camphor wood were used to produce activated carbon by pyrolysis. The prepared carbon was treated by potassium dihydrogen phosphate and then used as a solid phase adsorbent for the removal of p-nitroaniline (PNA) from aqueous solutions. A commercial camphor activated carbon (CC) adsorbent was selected for comparison purposes. Liquid phase adsorption experiments wer...

Aerobic Degradation of N-Methyl-4-Nitroaniline (MNA) by Pseudomonas sp. Strain FK357 Isolated from Soil

N-Methyl-4-nitroaniline (MNA) is used as an additive to lower the melting temperature of energetic materials in the synthesis of insensitive explosives. Although the biotransformation of MNA under anaerobic condition has been reported, its aerobic microbial degradation has not been documented yet. A soil microcosms study showed the efficient aerobic degradation of MNA by the inhabitant soil mic...
